Michael Torchia created the “Operation Fitness” programs to provide children and adults with the ability to integrate health and fitness into their everyday routine. Having suffered as an obese child himself, with incredible drive and determination he overcame his eating disorder. He went on to become Teenage Mr. America, Mr. Collegiate USA and Mr. California. This exemplifies that with proper guidance, learning of good nutritional habits and the use of research-based professional training, if you can imagine it, it can become a reality. In addition, Michael Torchia created the Children's Fitness Academy (CFA), an innovative resource that schools across the country can use to implement health and fitness education programs. CFA's team of professional fitness and education experts work with schools to revise and update physical education programs as well as provide informative and engaging seminars on career opportunities in the health and fitness arena. The Children's Fitness Academy has designed more effective and stringent guidelines than presently set in schools throughout the United States. The Holistic Health Foundation (HHF), was created for the research and development of Holistic Healing formulas and wellness programs. The founding Director of HHF, Michael F. Torchia, Wellness Expert, initiated holistic health programs for “Operation Fitness” and the “Children’s Fitness Academy.” These programs introduced revolutionary methods of fitness conditioning and healthy alternatives for healing. The success of these programs has helped people from around the World for over 30 years. The continued demand for holistic health has led to the establishment of the Holistic Health Foundation. The Holistic Health Foundation programs emphasize the inherent healing capacity of people brought out through specific healing methods and skills in the context of holistic principles. In addition, HHF focused on mind-body interactions, spiritual healing, cross cultural perspectives on health, birthing and dying, theoretical frameworks of non-conventional healing approaches. Over the years the Institute has developed into a comfortable learning environment with a unique, user-friendly organizational system and a broad collection of health and fitness systems. His team includes Dr. Karlis Ullis, Clinical Professor at UCLA and Director of Nutrition for Children’s Fitness Academy. Michael is currently embarking on a “Global Initiative” to build alliances with various health organizations to establish proper strategic planning to help fight the epidemic of obesity. His travels have taken him to Munich, Cologne and Hamburg in Germany; London, Birmingham and Manchester in England as well as Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in Australia. He continues traveling even now. By providing the services of his organization to parents, coaches and teachers, he hopes to help implement methods of preventing and wiping out the obesity epidemic.
In addition, Michael is building alliances with powerful politicians to create stringent regulations for food manufacturers and distributors. He is presently planning to utilize the star power of his elite clientele for fund raising events to finance his organization and to help make a significant turnaround in the obesity epidemic. His goal is to eradicate this devastating problem by being pro-active and by using preventative measures. Michael truly believes the key to success is by properly educating both children and adults. The objective of Torchia’s Global Initiative is to set new standards for health and wellness organizations throughout the United States and the World. Michael Torchia has formed the Operation Fitness "Obesity Task Force," an elite team of health experts that conduct research into manufacturers and distributors of food products containing refined sugars, preservatives, artificial sweeteners and genetically modified ingredients. Members of the task force will report all their findings to legislative representatives, Governmental agencies, as well as to school officials. Their goal is to provide essential information to children and parents so that healthy choices can be made. It is just as important to focus on preventing obesity, as it is to alleviating this rapidly growing disease affecting our nation. Michael Torchia's Television and Film Projects. Torchia's commitment to fitness doesn't end with the human race. As an animal lover, he's deeply concerned with our overweight pets, so he started "Healthy Pet Nation." In America, just like humans, obesity is a common problem for dogs and cats. There are 175 million pet owners who often treat their pets as 'children' and spoil their furry friends. These owners need to have "Riley" and "Princess" follow a total weight management program that will result in controlled weight loss and maintenance. Michael and his team will educate communities nationwide on how they can help prevent and alleviate pet obesity.Together, they will go into homes to assess the daily environment and help people implement a well-structured wellness program for their dogs and cats. This program will include evaluating the animal, educating the pet owner, modifying behaviors, and tailoring the program to each animal.
